California Pest Management Donates Ballistic Vest to LVPD's Canine Officer

La Verne-based California Pest Management continues its support of the La Verne Community and Police Department through the donation of a ballistic protective vest for La Verne Police K9 officer Dino. Dino is a 3-year-old Dutch shepard and the first K9 officer for the La Verne Police Department.

California Pest Management provides alternative pest prevention and control services without reliance on the use of traditional pesticide sprays. Developing and implementing integrated pest control management programs for schools, healthcare, distribution, manufacturing and other specialized facilities is the company’s specialty. It provides least-invasive alternative strategies and programs in replacement of traditional pesticide sprays and fogs. Organic and EcoGreen service programs are available to meet or exceed LEED standards. California Pest Management is one of the only pest services firms that is a member of the US Green Building Council in California. The Mosquito Doctor program provides for effective mosquito abatement.

Dino was donated to LVPD by the La Verne K-9 Foundation, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, comprised of community members who volunteer their time, and was placed in service in February 2021. The Foundation garners support for initiating and supporting La Verne Police Department’s K-9 program and support the La Verne Police Department in the purchase of needed equipment. Such equipment may be in the form of protective gear, tactical equipment, and continuous training for the K-9 unit.
