On Saturday November 30, we encourage you to shop at the businesses you love, and for every purchase of $25 or more you make, you will earn a FREE raffle ticket! Prizes include gift certificates to your favorite La Verne spots, gift baskets and more! Winners will be notified the week of December 9th.
More than 88 million Americans shopped and dined local last Small Business Saturday. The aim of Small Business Saturday is to boost support of small businesses across the country and to act as a shopping alternative to BlackFriday and Cyber Monday.
Another Reason to Shop Small® on Small Business Saturday®: Approximately 67 Cents of Every Dollar Spent at a Small Business Remains in the Local Community
On average two-thirds of every dollar ($0.67) spent at small businesses in the U.S. stays in the local community, consumers’ local impact during the important holiday shopping season could be significant. Further, every dollar spent at small businesses creates an additional 50 cents in local business activity as a result of employee spending and businesses purchasing local goods and services, according to the Small Business Economic Impact Study from American Express (NYSE: AXP).
American Express Small Business Saturday helps small businesses do more business. The first-ever Small Business Saturday took place on Nov 27, 2010. It encouraged people across the country to support small, local businesses. In 2011, the United States Senate unanimously passed a resolution of support for Small Business Saturday. Over $14.3 billion has been spent at independent small businesses on Small Business Saturday.
