The Wedding of Miss Lordsburg to Mr. La Verne

What’s in a name? You’ll find out on Saturday, August 19th. One hundred years ago the city of Lordsburg changed its name to La Verne and citizens celebrated with a “mock wedding.” Today’s citizens will re-enact the “Mock Wedding of Miss Lordsburg and Mr. La Verne” on Saturday, August 19th, at 10:00 am on “D” Street in downtown La Verne. Mayor of La Verne Don Kendrick will “officiate” as Justice of the Peace as we celebrate local history. Come join the fun!
