Mayor Tim Hepburn Selected to Continue as Mayor and Steven Frank Johnson Selected as Mayor Pro Tem

At its regular meeting on Monday, April 1, 2024, the City Council conducted the annual Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem rotation after the swearing-in of Council Members Rick Crosby and Wendy Lau for a new four-year term. The City Council unanimously selected Tim Hepburn to continue serving as Mayor and Steven Frank Johnson to serve as Mayor Pro Tem. They will each fulfill the duties for a one-year term.

City Council Members expressed their support Mayor Hepburn and Mayor Pro Tem Johnson, identifying their commitment to the City of La Verne and longevity on the City Council. Mayor Hepburn commented on his reappointment, saying, "It is a great honor to be selected again as Mayor of La Verne by my colleagues. This past year has been one of growth and together we have achieved remarkable progress. I am excited to keep the momentum going, focusing on our shared vision for a vibrant and prosperous community. Under the guidance of our City Manager and with the support of my colleagues on the Council, I am confident that we will achieve even greater heights in the year to come."

Mayor Pro Tem Steven Frank Johnson reiterated his wholehearted commitment to the City by stating, "It's an honor to serve La Verne. Stepping into the role of Mayor Pro Tem, I look forward to the opportunities ahead. We're on the right track as a City, and my goal is to keep our actions aligned with what's best for the entire community."

The City looks forward to the contributions of Mayor Hepburn, Mayor Pro Tem Johnson, and all Council Members as they work collaboratively with City staff to navigate the coming year.
